Kirby is a small farming community that is the shape of an arrowhead. Kirby is bordered by Burke, Victory, Concord, St Johnsbury and Lyndon. Kirby is home to two small ponds, Johnson and Kirby Pond, as well as Kirby Mountain which is nearly 3,000 feet in elevation. Kirby has a relatively small population, of less than 500, and has no trading center or village. The community hosts an annual Kirby Day, hosted by the Kirby Quilters, in order to provide opportunities to community members to gather together and showcase their wares. Kirby is also home to the Kirby Country Club, a nine-hole golf course with beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes. The town pays tuition for children to attend any elementary or secondary education state approved school.
