Sheffield was chartered in 1793 as part of Vermont Charter. Sheffield has a population of just over 700. Sheffield is home to the largest windfarm in the state. Surrounded by Glover, Greensboro, Barton, Sutton and Wheelock this town is a short distance to many lakes and ponds. The towns of Sheffield and Wheelock share a K-8 school in Sheffield called Miller’s Run and it is located at the north end of Sheffield village.
